A Tribute to the Victims Affected by Impaired Drivers

    Founder's Story

Thank you for visiting our page. I have found that many people have a mindset that originated from a significant event. Events that have happened in my life led me to a desire to be a part of something bigger. My goal is to save lives through education and awareness. Keep reading to learn my story.

In 2006 I purchased a beautiful 2002 Roush 360R. This was one of 61 that were finished in red. In 2002 there were a total of 141 360R's produced in white and red. On Jan 5th 2008, my rare and beloved Roush would meet it's fate. I was at a local bar with some friends having a great time. I had arranged a designated driver as I knew I would consume a fair amount of alcohol. I received a text from my girlfriend at the time asking me to pick her up from a nightclub roughly 15 miles away. To this day I do not remember exact details but I was travelling at a high rate of speed. Something happened that caused me to lose control of my car and I flipped the car 10 times end over end at roughly 135 MPH. A major interstate in the St Louis area was shutdown so life-flight could pick me up to take to the hospital. My parents who lived in another state received a call that I would likely not survive the night. I had internal injuries along with a broken sternum, several ribs, both collar bones, and both shoulders were dislocated. To this day I have muscle atrophy in my left bicep due to nerve damage from my shoulder either dislocating or being put back in.

I was very fortunate that I had not made it to pickup my girlfriend as there is no way a passenger would have survived the wreck.

On December 27th, 2024, my wife was on her way home from work after a 12 hour shift. She texted me at 4:52 PM that she was leaving work. Four minutes later at 4:56 PM, her life was taken by the hands of another driver that crossed the line and hit her head on. She passed instantly. The cause of why this driver crossed the line, is under investigation.

These events led me to come up with an idea to try and help save lives through the creation of MAID.
